Public Library Homework page

This section links to Homework sites that you can access with a PUBLIC library card. Many of these are peer-reviewed (read and checked by experts) and trusted by teachers around the world.

In Nottingham there are 2 public libraries, Nottingham City (Citycard) and Nottingham County (Inspire). This section is therefore split into 2 parts, one for the Citycard and one for the Inspire County Library card.

Nottingham City Library Card

The library card has a 9-digit number that begins with a letter e.g. D12345678. Usually you need to type this in to access these free web resources. You can get these cards from the Nottingham City Centre Library, bring ID and proof of address from home.

Nottingham Inspire County Library Card -

The library card has a 9-digit number (that begins with a letter e.g. D12345678) underneath the barcode. To get a card, go to your local library with ID (Student Card, Bus Pass and proof of address from home)

Access to Research is only available via Beeston Library (and other Nottingham Inspire Libraries). It gives access, from the library, to thousands of Academic Journals via a searchable database (useful for 6th Formers). For more information, ask about it at Beeston Library.

Zinio is a free magazine web resource that you need to create an online account for. The online account can be created using your school e-mail address and your library card, it will ask you to create a password so only YOU can access this. The password must have a Number and Capital letter and be at least 7 letters long - DO NOT USE PASSWORDS THAT YOU USE TO GET ONTO SCHOOL COMPUTERS.
